Senior Ride Control Hardware Engineer - Glendale

Salary: $129,300 - 173,300 per year Requirements:

• We need at least 5 years of controls experience
• We require experience in fail-safe and safety-related control system design
• We need strong knowledge of control processors, components, and communication networks
• We require a high level of proficiency in industrial control system installation, integration, and commissioning
• We need a solid understanding of communication protocols such as TCP/IP, CAN, serial, ProfiNET, Ethernet/IP, and EtherCAT
• We require extensive knowledge of electrical design standards and codes, including UL508A and NEC
• We need familiarity with amusement and automation industry standards, including ASTM F2291
• We require expertise in motor and motion control methods and components
• We need the ability to travel domestically and internationally for durations ranging from 1 week to 3 years
• We require the ability to manage multiple complex initiatives at once while coordinating priorities and team efforts
• A bachelor of science degree or higher in an engineering field is required
• Preferred qualifications include a licensed professional engineer credential
• Preferred candidates are proficient with engineering design tools such as AutoCAD, Matlab, Simulink, Solidworks, and EPLAN
• Preferred candidates are proficient in Rockwell and Siemens automation systems architecture and components
• Preferred candidates have electrical and troubleshooting skills using tools such as a voltmeter and oscilloscope
• Preferred candidates have knowledge of international amusement industry standards applicable in France, Hong Kong, or China

• We support programmable, electrical, and electronic hardware efforts to design and deliver control systems for complex, innovative ride systems
• We perform engineering design and analysis for ride systems, with an emphasis on electrical control systems
• We develop control system and network architectures
• We design, model, and analyze electrical supply systems
• We research new products, technologies, and methodologies
• We lead a team of ride control engineers and partner with other professionals to develop ride control systems
• We develop control equipment requirements and specifications
• We build proof-of-concept mock-ups and prototypes
• We conduct hazard assessments and failure modes and effects analysis
• We manage vendors, contractors, and consultants supporting ride control system development and implementation
• We define and oversee supplier and consultant design and delivery
• We ensure all delivery and performance requirements are met
• We conduct factory acceptance testing and support ride system installation
