Regional Delivery Manager - Midwest

Regional Delivery ManagerWe are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Regional Delivery Manager to oversee a portfolio of Third-Party Logistics Carriers (3PLs), while supporting assigned market stores across the region. In this role, you'll bring your leadership, logistics expertise, and customer-focused mindset to drive operational excellence, customer satisfaction, and financial performance. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including Store Operations, DC Operations, Inventory Control, and others to champion the customer experience and uphold "The Bob's Way."This role has a Tuesday through Saturday schedule, with occasional Monday work due to volume needs. National travel responsibilities up to 50%. We are open to the right candidate working primarily remote; ideally based in or near one of the following locations in the Midwest: Columbus, OH, Indianapolis, IN, Cincinnati, OH, Bowling Green, Louisville or Lexington, KY.Key ResponsibilitiesApply your expertise in logistics and transportation management to oversee up to 100 daily delivery routes and ensure successful delivery of up to 1,250 customer orders daily.Partner with internal stakeholders and 3PL providers to drive service excellence, cost savings, and routing efficiencies.Apply your skills in KPI measurement to monitor and improve regional performance in sales, delivery success, and customer satisfaction.Collaborate with other departments to ensure alignment of strategy and execution across business functions.Utilize analytical skills to identify improvement areas, analyze data, and implement impactful process changes.Help enhance depot and store delivery performance through carrier performance management, depot audits, and customer experience initiatives.Lead strategic projects, including depot openings/closures and store delivery support.Conduct weekly carrier meetings and regular site inspections to ensure compliance and continuous improvement.All other duties as assigned.Minimum QualificationsRequired Education:Bachelor's degree in Business, Logistics, or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.Experience:5+ years in transportation logistics management.5+ years of successful multi-unit retail or delivery operations experience.Other Qualifications:Strong data analysis and communication skills.Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.Key Competencies and Required SkillsLeadership CompetenciesPeople Leadership: Demonstrated ability to inspire and lead cross-functional teams and external partners.Talent Development: Proven record of mentoring, developing, and retaining high-performance teams.Shared Accountability: Skilled in holding team members and carriers accountable to KPIs and standards.Effective Delegation: Ability to empower others while maintaining oversight of delivery outcomes.Focus on Outcomes: Track record of driving strategic initiatives to measurable success.Behavioral CompetenciesSound Decision-Making: Uses judgment to make timely, effective decisions in high-pressure environments.Problem Solving: Adept at root cause analysis and developing long-term solutions.Communication: Strong written/verbal communication across all organizational levels.Conflict Navigation: Experienced in managing difficult carrier and team conversations constructively.Team Empowerment: Cultivates a culture of customer service, accountability, and operational excellence.Technical/Functional CompetenciesTechnical Proficiency: Familiar with logistics technology (SAP / EWM), Microsoft Office Suite, and delivery tracking systems (DispatchTrack).KPI/Financial Acumen: Skilled in managing $400M+ in delivered sales and analyzing key logistics metrics.Customer Satisfaction: Deep commitment to delivering "best in class" customer experience.Process Improvement: Proven success improving logistics workflows and reducing delivery-related costs.Strategic Planning: Ability to implement regional strategies aligned with broader company goals.Preferred Competencies and SkillsExperience in alternate Big Ticket Retail or furniture industry.Familiarity with wood, bedding, upholstery, and leather furniture.Ability to motivate diverse teams and manage through change.Passion for learning and continuous improvement.Supervisory ResponsibilityManages 3PL depot managers and regional delivery teams indirectly.No direct reports but provides strategic leadership across the region.Work EnvironmentField-based role with regular in-person travel to depot and store locations.Frequent virtual meetings with carriers, internal stakeholders, and cross-functional teams.Flexibility to balance office-based strategic planning and field execution.Physical Requirements and ADAAble to sit, walk, stand, bend, kneel, reach, twist, push, pull, climb, balance, crouch, and lift/move up to 50 lbs without assistance.Move objects up to 100lbs with or without reasonable accommodations.Stand or sit for extended periods to perform job functions.Diversity is a Core Value at Bob'sAt Bob's Discount Furniture, we want you to feel at home.
