RN - PACU


Job Details:


• Day/Evening shifts, 10-hour shifts within department hours of Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 8:00 PM
• No on-call required
• Patient ratio of 1:2
• Travelers are required to float as needed
• At least 2 years of experience in PACU/Recovery Room required
• Travel experience required
• Epic charting system experience required
• Wisconsin RN or compact RN license required
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS
• Basic Arrhythmia experience required
• Must pass a Telemetry test prior to being cleared to start; two attempts allowed with a passing score of 80% or higher
• Responsible for assessing, diagnosing, intervening, evaluating, coordinating, and facilitating care in the immediate post-anesthetic period for surgical patients
• Care for patients across adolescent, adult, and geriatric age groups
• Surgical specialties include bariatric, orthopedic, outpatient total joint, sports medicine, spine, general surgery, urology, gynecology, ophthalmology, and more
• Nurses may work in both the Universal Care Center (UCC) preoperative/postoperative area and the Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU)
• Interdisciplinary support available including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, and rapid response teams

The facility operates a 20-bay PACU and a 48-room Universal Care Unit (UCC) that supports emergency department, radiology, and pre/post-operative patients. The organization provides comprehensive interdisciplinary support services and specializes in a wide range of surgical specialties, serving patients from adolescents through geriatrics.
