Role Overview

The Detailer Lead directs the detailing team and owns constructability on assigned projects, typically smaller or less complex in scope. The role partners with the design and modeling group to bring constructability knowledge into the model early, leads communication across the project team, and manages the resources assigned to the project.

Serving as the senior detailing voice on the project, the Detailer Lead runs the final trade coordination and sign-off process with the General Contractor, contributes to the design pull schedule that drives model development, and carries budget and cost accountability while providing direction to less experienced detailers.

Core Responsibilities

1. Leads detailing team and constructability on generally smaller or less complex assigned projects.
2. Partners with the design and modeling group to incorporate constructability knowledge in a timely manner to minimize model rework.
3. Leads communication between the project team members to ensure a successful product; ensures concerns are addressed and resolved.
4. Provides material, content and feedback to applicable team members as needed.
5. Leads the final trade coordination and sign-off process on the project working in conjunction with the General Contractor.
6. Contributes to design pull schedule to direct the model development to meet deliverables.
7. Manages resources assigned to the project.
8. Participates in conceptual design efforts to promote modular construction and constructability standards.
9. Supports budget and has cost accountability

Required Background

1. High School or GED and 6 years of progressive detailing experience or trade apprentice program completion and 4 years of related field experience
2. Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Construction or related field preferred
3. Field Foreman/General Foreman preferred
4. Proficient verbal and written communication skills.
5. Ability to write, edit and proofread content.
6. Ability to read and interpret basic construction documents
7. Current knowledge of HVAC, Plumbing, Piping, Sheet Metal trades and field installation methods
8. Strong attention to detail
9. Ability to coordinate projects
10. Ability to multi-task and prioritize
11. Ability to interpret the Construction Schedule to integrate a design pull schedule
12. Working knowledge of applicable AEC, BIM, CAD software (Navisworks, Revit, AutoCAD)
