About the Position

First-time travelers accepted. Must be within 75-mile radius of the facility. Ability to manage a patient ratio of 1:5 to 1:7 for MedSurg. Experience with EPIC charting is required. Description: This is a critical care step-down unit dedicated to providing exceptional, evidence-based care to our patients. Patients are received from various areas, including emergency departments and intensive care units. The patient population consists of adult acute care patients requiring more specialized care than available on a general medical-surgical unit. All patients have continuous pulse oximetry and telemetry monitoring. We care for patients needing airway management, acute BIPAP support, and those with arterial and central lines. Patients may also require titrated medicated IV infusions. Our team adapts quickly, is vigilant, and provides compassionate care using a multidisciplinary approach. Staffing includes specialists such as IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory therapy, and social services. We focus on all medical diagnoses with particular attention to pulmonary patients. This unit is equipped to manage diverse patient needs, including interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, administration of blood products, and care of ventilated patients. Isolation precautions and adherence to safety protocols are critical components of patient care.
