Job Summary

This is a Registered Nurse – Tele Float position supporting Med Surg/Tele units, including Cardiac Drips, with float responsibilities to all inpatient units including ER boarders as needed. Charting is performed in Epic. Scheduling is based on the needs of the unit; absolutely no block schedules can be accommodated.

Key Responsibilities

• Float to all inpatient units, including ER boarders, as needed
• Provide nursing care on Med Surg/Tele units, including management of Cardiac Drips
• Adhere to a patient ratio of 1:5
• Document and chart using Epic
• Maintain flexibility to start four (4) hours prior to scheduled start time or four (4) hours after scheduled start time based on limited critical department need
• Work every other weekend and holiday as required

Required Skills

• Telemetry experience required
• Cardiac Telemetry experience required
• Ability to float to all inpatient units, including ER boarders
• Flexibility with shift start times (up to 4 hours before or after scheduled start)
• Proficiency with Epic charting system

Education Requirements

• Permanent Massachusetts (MA) RN License required
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification required
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
• NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale) certification preferred
• CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention) certification preferred

Required Experience

• Minimum 3 years of nursing experience required
• Must have Telemetry and Cardiac Telemetry experience

Work Environment / Physical Requirements

• Night shift position: 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
• Scheduling is based on the needs of the unit; no block schedules can be accommodated
• Every other weekend and holiday coverage required
• Must have flexibility to start up to four (4) hours prior to or four (4) hours after scheduled start time based on critical department need
• Float to all inpatient units, including ER boarders, as needed
• Flu vaccine required (Medical/Religious Exemptions and Declinations Allowed)
