At Chartis Federal, our mission is clear: keeping heroes safe and connected—on the battlefield, on the border, and in our backyards.This position is contingent upon award.Position OverviewWe are seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to be responsible for the analysis, design, development, and implementation support of tactical communications systems and applications.Duties and ResponsibilitiesProvide technical system support, including needs analysis and proposal generation designAddress Government technical design questions and issuesDemonstrate expertise in communication system topologies, including conventional tactical communications systems (e.g., OTAR, trunking, data), microwave, VoIP, and IT architecturesSupport design of sites, systems, and technical solutions to meet operational requirements per technical standards and DHS directionPerform propagation modeling, simulation, and CAD analysis using tools such as Comarco/EDX, Hertz Warfare, and Spectrum-ESupport equipment integration, testing, optimization, and deploymentEvaluate emerging technologies and provide engineering recommendations to minimize cost and improve performanceRequirementsExperience with P25 tactical communications systems similar in scope and magnitude to DHS's nationwide TACCOM networkDemonstrated expertise in communication system topologies, including conventional tactical communications systems (e.g., OTAR, trunking, data), microwave, VoIP, and IT architecturesBachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related fieldMinimum 10 years of equivalent experienceWorking knowledge of DHS Systems Engineering Life Cycle (SELC) processesMust be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust suitability determinationU.S. citizenship requiredPreferred Qualification:Experience with RF propagation modeling software (Comarco/EDX, Hertz Warfare, Spectrum-E)Familiarity with Motorola R56 standards and site engineering practicesProfessional Engineer (PE) licenseWhy Join Chartis Federal?Comprehensive health insurance (medical, dental, vision)Retirement plans with company contributionsProfessional development opportunities and career growth supportA dynamic and collaborative work environment where your contributions are valuedAt Chartis Federal, we believe in fostering a culture of excellence, integrity, and innovation while supporting critical national security missions.
