We are a 6 year running Top Workplace in the Greater St. Louis area. Job SummaryLeonardo DRS Land Systems is seeking a full time Program Manager. This position is based out of our West Plains, MO facility and will have the option to work an in person or hybrid schedule. This position is responsible for managing and directing the daily execution of all contract requirements to ensure cost, schedule, and performance goals are achieved for the Halvorsen overhaul contract. The Program Manager will lead or support all meetings and oversee the integrated product or project team from kick-off through project close. This role serves as the primary interface for communication and coordination with internal and external customers on all matters related to existing contracts. The position will also lead and/or support bid and proposal activities. All responsibilities are performed under the guidance of senior-level management, including the Director of Programs or the Line of Business Lead.Job ResponsibilitiesManage and direct the daily execution of contract requirements to ensure cost, schedule, and performance goals are metDevelop and implement plans and schedules for contracts and subcontractsAllocate and control budgets for labor, material, travel, and purchased servicesPerform schedule and cost variance analysesRegularly report status to senior managementEnsure a timely closeout of completed programs with proper documentation and fulfillment of all obligationsNotify and seek senior management assistance when schedule or budget issues arise, and develop and implement corrective action plans, including program corrective action strategiesLead or support all meetings and the integrated product or project team from kick-off through project closeProvide leadership to program or project teams by ensuring communication, cooperation, and conflict resolutionCollaborate with various project teams on assigned tasks and engineering changes and may be required to ensure overall material execution is on schedule and on budget for a business areaServe as the primary interface for communication and coordination with internal and external customers on existing contracts and contract executionCoordinate with other departments to resolve contractual issues and with Contracts Administration on contract requirements, changes, and interpretationsParticipate as a team member or leader in bid and proposal activities and ensure all request‑for‑proposal requirements are met in the preparation and documentation of bids and proposalsMay actively seek new business opportunities in coordination with Business Development and may represent management at program reviews, meetings, seminars, and similar eventsPrepare for and participate in contract and subcontract negotiations while representing the Company’s interests and ensuring adherence to all government regulatory guidanceAssure contract requirements are executed in accordance with applicable regulations and Company policies and proceduresFormally identify, assess, monitor, and mitigate risk throughout the program life cycle and obtain management approval before making decisions that may impact established program cost or schedule objectivesMay partner with various stakeholders on planning process and system improvementsDevelop and understand: Leading versus lagging indicators to support effective program managementPrinciples of program planning, applying broad concepts, theories, and knowledge in relevant disciplines, along with working knowledge of related fieldsCash flow management principlesPrinciples of process improvement, including Lean Six SigmaSupport, communicate, reinforce, and defend the mission, values, and culture of the organization.QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Finance, Supply Chain or relevant field and 3+ years of relevant experience; OR equivalent combination of education and experienceAbility to manage aerospace/defense programs as a prime or subcontractor to a domestic or foreign military organization Exposure to: Program lifecycle or components of development through sustainment to include: proposal development, requirements decomposition, generation of system and subsystem statements of work and subcontracts, risk management, and continuous improvement efforts including implementation cost reduction and performance improvement effortsManaging manpower planning, project reviews, scheduling and budget controlEarned value cost accounting and reporting; experience with metrics for assessing and reporting program progress, productivity and variance analysisFinance, contracting, export regulations, engineering, logistics, manufacturing and supply chain managementKnowledge of program management tools and proceduresExcellent leadership and management skills Exceptional customer interface skillsAdvanced problem‑solving abilitiesProven presentation capabilitiesExcellent oral and written communication skillsAbility to travel up to 30% of the timeOur benefits package includes comprehensive health insurance (medical, dental, vision), employer matching 401(k) retirement plan, paid time off including vacation, holidays, and sick leave (including ant state-mandated paid sick leave), parental leave benefits, tuition reimbursement, professional development support, and life and disability insurance coverage.Taking care of our people is a top priority at Leonardo DRS.
