Our organization is looking for a Director for the Cardiomyopathy Section. This role involves leading Iowa's sole Blue Designation Heart Transplant Center and overseeing Comprehensive Heart Failure Services. Experience life in the highly sought-after Iowa City, IA.

The Division of Cardiovascular Medicine within the Department of Internal Medicine is in search of a Board Certified/Board Eligible Heart Failure Cardiologist to take on the role of Medical Director for the Advanced Heart Failure and Heart Transplant Program. • Steer the growth of Iowa's only Blue Designation Heart Transplant Center.
• Manage comprehensive heart failure services, encompassing cardiomyopathy, LVAD, heart transplant, cardiogenic shock, and pulmonary hypertension care.
• Oversee Iowa's exclusive Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy Clinic, recognized as an HCMA Center of Excellence.
• Collaborate at an Accredited Pulmonary Hypertension Center with a multidisciplinary approach.
• Expand a Heart Transplant and LVAD program, currently performing 15-20 procedures annually, with plans to increase to 30.
• Balance your responsibilities with approximately 50% clinical duties, 20% dedicated leadership time, and up to 30% research, based on your interests.
• Lead a diverse team, including 3 Advanced Practice Providers, 3 Heart Failure nurses, 3 LVAD coordinators, 3 transplant coordinators, 4 heart failure cardiologists, and 4 cardiovascular surgeons.
• Participate in dynamic clinical research with active involvement in major trials such as Rebirth, AIM HIGHer, Proactive HF, ACACIA, and Odyssey.
• Enjoy up to 192 hours of vacation annually, in addition to 9 paid holidays, and unlimited sick leave accrual.

• Select between TIAA or IPERS retirement plans with immediate enrollment and contributions from the university.
• Hold the position of Clinical Associate Professor or Clinical Professor on either a tenure or clinical track, depending on qualifications.
