Maintenance Engineer-FT AM/PM - Hotel Valley Ho

The Maintenance Engineer is an hourly staff position within the Engineering department at Hotel Valley Ho, Scottsdale, Arizona. Position Summary The main focus of this role is to perform preventive and/or unscheduled maintenance within the hotel, respond to guest requests, and assist with other duties as directed by the Assistant Chief or Director of Engineering. Work Schedule 7:00am – 3:30pm: Thursday, Friday, Saturday 2:30pm – 11:00pm: Tuesday, Wednesday Responsibilities Perform preventive maintenance (PM) and repair work on all building systems and mechanical equipment. Assist guests with service requests as needed. Learn, understand, and become proficient with computer‑based systems used by the Engineering department (energy management systems, electronic key systems, CMMS, HVACR controls, etc.). Work frequently with electrical circuits, plumbing systems, and various power and hand tools. Maintain a positive and proactive attitude while ensuring work is completed on time and to satisfactory standards. Qualifications Proven mechanical aptitude in HVACR, electrical, plumbing, commercial food equipment, or building construction and/or repair. Previous resort maintenance or a similar field is preferred. Strong written, verbal, and spoken communication skills in English. Ability to follow instructions accurately. Basic knowledge of Windows–based computer systems (Word, Excel, etc.) and willingness to learn relevant applications. Physical Demands Stand, walk, climb ladders, squat, and lift full range (≥50lbs). Work in confined spaces and in temperature extremes of heat, cold, and inclement weather. Wear required personal protective equipment and work at heights above 6ft.
