Mechanical Test Engineer

Talascend is currently seeking a Mechanical Test Engineer for a contract opportunity with our client in Torrance, California . Overview This role involves conducting mechanical testing and supporting project engineering activities in a hybrid work environment, with three days onsite and two days remote. The engineer will be responsible for designing test systems, analyzing results, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure testing standards are met. Responsibilities Design and develop mechanical test systems for pneumatic, hydraulic, refrigeration, and heat exchanger components Perform and analyze tests on various systems and components to ensure compliance with specifications Coordinate with other engineering teams to define testing procedures and interpret results Identify functional problems and suggest effective resolutions Maintain quality control standards and reliability programs Generate regular progress reports on testing activities Lead and direct testing projects and potentially supervise team members Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related discipline Minimum of 4 years of technical experience in designing mechanical and test facility systems At least 4 years of project engineering or project management experience Experience coordinating with engineering teams to define and execute tests Extensive knowledge of testing concepts, practices, and procedures Ability to utilize judgment and creativity to plan and accomplish testing goals Experience leading testing projects and supervising team members We thank all applicants for their interest.
