Shipping ClerkThe shipping clerk is responsible for ensuring that all products are shipped appropriately to the correct destination. The shipping clerk calculates rates, packs product, reviews shipments for errors and uses a computer database to record shipping information.Duties:Counts, verifies weights and measures all outgoing products.Retrieves the proper packing for shipments and packs order using spaces, dividers and packing materials to pack items securely.Determines proper shipping method according to customer requirements.Prepares all necessary paperwork including shipping labels and Bill-of-Lading.Checks all orders before shipment to ensure that product, quantity and customer destination is correct. Track shipment through to delivery.Assists in moving orders and lifting boxes onto freight trucks.Takes inventory and orders shipping supplies as necessary.Devise new and more efficient ways of executing shipments.Perform special assignments and other duties as required.Requirements:Able to distinguish colors.Demonstrate strong organizational skills.Possess broad knowledge of different shipping methods, i.e. UPS & FedEx software.Must have the strength and ability to perform physical activities that require considerable use of the arms and legs and moving the whole body such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling of materials.Able to lift and carry over 25 pounds on a regular basis.Capable of operating warehouse machinery to lift and move heavier items (forklift, pallet jack, and handtruck).Count accurately and pay close attention to detail.Valid Oregon Driver License with good driving record for pick-ups and deliveries.Computer data entry and 10-key.
