Job Description Summary The Radiologic Technologist (RT) works with Medical Providers and/or Medical Assistants to examine and treat Community-GoHealth Urgent Care patients. The role involves performing and analyzing patient x‑rays, reporting results, and providing administrative support to ensure efficient operation of the urgent care centers. Job Requirements Education High School Diploma required Graduate of an approved Radiologic Technologist program required Work Experience Experience in a clinical setting preferred Licenses and Certifications Basic Life Support (BLS) required at the time of hire, obtained through the American Red Cross (ARC) or American Heart Association (AHA) American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) registration required at the time of hire State licensure as a Radiologic Technologist required at the time of hire (if applicable by state law) Essential Functions X‑ray Services – Under the direction of the clinical provider, perform x‑ray services for patients, ensuring proper positioning and protection, and apply x‑ray energy for diagnosis and treatment of patients of all ages from newborn to elderly. Patient Preparation and Rooming – Inform technical staff of patient flow, prepare patients for examination, conduct interview to verify patient information, record medical history, confirm purpose of visit, measure vital signs, and conduct point‑of‑care testing as needed to provide information to the provider. Administrative Responsibilities – Maintain medical records, scan charts to patient files, conduct courtesy call‑backs for patient follow‑up, follow operating instructions for daily controls and calibration of equipment, document and troubleshoot equipment, and perform preventive maintenance with repair tickets as needed. Other Responsibilities Collaborate with ordering/treating providers to determine appropriate procedures or views for accurate diagnosis and treatment. Support clinic operations to keep the center running smoothly. Explain procedures to patients, ensure their comfort and safety, and answer questions. Accurately position patients and equipment for optimal imaging results. Select proper ionizing factors by adjusting radiographic controls for clear, high‑quality diagnostic images. Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of x‑ray equipment and manage necessary supplies. Adhere to radiation safety protocols and implement ALARA to minimize exposure to patients and staff. Maintain accurate patient records and log completed procedures in electronic systems or logbooks. Verify image quality and ensure images are sent to radiologists for interpretation.
