Clinician Educator - Geriatrics (Assistant Program Director or Early Career Educator)

Our organization is on the lookout for enthusiastic Clinician Educators to enhance our expanding team within the Section of Geriatrics at the College of Medicine. We are currently seeking two types of candidates: one with substantial experience in geriatrics medical education and another who is at the beginning of their career but is eager to engage in teaching and academic growth. These positions offer a unique chance to make a significant impact on geriatrics education while improving clinical care in a prominent academic health setting.

Both roles come with:

• A sign-on bonus of $25,000
• Up to $15,000 in relocation assistance

• Experienced Candidate Path Qualifications:
  • Board-certified clinician educator in geriatrics at the Associate or Assistant Professor level with a solid background in geriatrics medical education.
  • This individual will take on the role of Assistant Program Director for the Geriatrics Fellowship, with opportunities for further educational leadership.
• Early Career Path Qualifications:
  • Board-certified clinician educator in geriatrics looking to enhance their teaching skills and leadership potential.
  • This candidate will have dedicated time to develop their educational portfolio and aim for future leadership positions within the section.

The clinical duties will encompass a combination of outpatient geriatrics practice and specialized consultative services, including:

• Outpatient primary care geriatrics
• Consultations in geriatric oncology
• Consultations at the Memory Care Clinic
• Possibility of serving as Medical Director for the OU Health Memory Care Clinic
• Providing care in Assisted Living and Nursing Home settings at a Continuing Care Retirement Community

These roles will include dedicated time for educational initiatives, such as:

• Curriculum development
• Mentorship of learners
• Faculty development

The successful candidates will play a vital role in training fellows, residents, and medical students, with opportunities for scholarly work and academic advancement.
