Occupational Therapist (OT)Survivor Healthcare is an innovative virtual telehealth clinic that supports cancer survivors from diagnosis through long-term survivorship. We work as a multidisciplinary team to provide whole-patient care, with a demonstrated ability to improve the quality of life and health outcomes for our patients. We work across several sub-specialties, including oncology, occupational therapy, mental health, and nutrition.We are seeking a part-time Occupational Therapist (OT) who is passionate about working with cancer survivors to achieve their health goals. We work in a continuously evolving virtual environment. The right candidate must be adaptable, self-sufficient, and committed to providing compassionate, whole-patient care.ResponsibilitiesPerform initial and ongoing evaluationsDevelop a Plan of Treatment for each patient based on initial and ongoing evaluations, including short and long-term goals, and collaboration with other staff members on a consistent schedule and adjust this schedule and plan according to patient progressDocument patient progress according to approved medical documentation and facility documentation proceduresEvaluate mobility, strength, and current level of patient function while setting goals to improve in these areas that are scaled to patient abilities and realistically attainableMaintain professional and technical knowledgeRequirementsProven record of matching patient needs to home treatment plans and proven record of implementing these plans safely and effectivelyStrong experience administering a wide range of occupational therapy techniques via telemedicinePrior experience in oncology or palliative careExperience assisting and directing treatments given by aides, technicians, and assistantsExperience with recommending assistive equipment to patients and outpatient or home health follow-up programsExperience with a wide range of patient age groups and injuriesKnowledge of Occupational Therapy and an understanding of when these techniques can benefit patientsA strong sense of empathy and the ability to motivate patientsMinimum 5+ years of experience providing occupational therapy to patients and familiarity with telemedicine-based practiceCurrent licensure to practice as an OT; (state licensures will be reimbursed)Understanding of HIPAA, HITECH, and patient confidentialitySurvivor Healthcare believes all its employees should achieve maximum wellness.
