As a General Manager (GM), you’ll provide reliable financial solutions to help customers manage everyday challenges. What You’ll Do – Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Manage overall store performance by meeting or exceeding company performance standards.
- Coach, lead, and develop all team members to build new business and increase store growth by demonstrating knowledge of systems, company standards, account management, recovery (collections), job duties, and performance reports.
- Lead the charge for local marketing strategies, use business‑to‑business partnership opportunities, obtain referrals, host and participate in community and in‑store events to drive growth and build revenue.
- Examine, evaluate, and process loan/pawn applications and all relevant transactions, assessing risk within established limits.
- Enforce adherence to quality standards, procedures, and local and state laws and regulations.
- Participate in audits and compliance reviews as directed by the corporate office or District Manager.
- Supervise and maintain office security, including cash management and loss prevention, by verifying and documenting cash overages/shortages, vault, inventory, deposits, and expenses.
- Conduct proper opening and closing procedures and train new staff in keyholder duties.
- Participate in the selection, review, hiring, and retention of new employees.
- Develop work schedules in accordance with budget, workloads, and store needs, ensuring optimal staffing.
- Handle complex customer situations with integrity and professionalism.
- Monitor and maintain internal and external store appearance, addressing basic facility needs and overseeing planogram and seasonal/promotional marketing displays.
- Perform duties outside the office when applicable, including on‑site vehicle appraisals, store errands, and external marketing.
- Work efficiently in a rapidly changing, fast‑paced environment, handling multiple challenging tasks to meet individual and team performance standards.
- Conduct additional tasks as directed by leadership.
- Maintain a full‑time schedule with regular, in‑person attendance, including weekends; a full‑time work schedule includes a minimum of 40 hours per week.
Qualifications and Skills
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum two years of experience with proven success in a supervisory or leadership role in retail, finance, service, or related industries.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in using phones, Point of Sale, Microsoft Office, and other systems.
- Valid driver’s license, auto insurance, and personal vehicle for use throughout the workday (mileage compensated).
- Must be at least 18 years of age (19 in Alabama).
- Background check required. All background checks are conducted and results considered in accordance with applicable law.
- Ability to meet the physical demands: standing up to 90% of the time, moving and transporting up to 25 pounds, operating mechanical controls such as a keyboard.
Nice to Haves – Preferred Qualifications and Skills
- Associate’s degree or higher.
- Experience in check cashing, document verification, money order processing.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus and may be required for certain locations.
