University of Redlands, Redlands, CA 92374, USA Overview Position: Administrative, (12 Months), Full-time Position Code: 7981 Salary Range: $72,000 Introductory Period: One (1) year Available: Immediately Posting Date: July 7, 2026 Application Deadline: Open Until Filled; Apply Immediately Responsibilities The Head Coach is responsible for directing, planning, administering, and evaluating all aspects of the women’s flag football program. The Head Coach must comply with all University, National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division III rules and policies and demonstrate a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion. Reporting to the Director of Athletics, this position advances the mission of the University, the Department of Athletics, and the women’s flag football program through leadership and education. May be required to travel for extended periods for athletic contests and recruiting activities. Flexibility to work nights and weekends as required by the team schedules. Recruit qualified student-athletes for the University of Redlands and participate in the women’s flag football program. Hire, supervise, evaluate, and oversee the women’s flag football coaching staff, including one part-time assistant coach. Additional support is provided by the men’s football coaching staff. Schedule practices, competitions, scrimmages, and exhibition matches; coordinate travel for the program. Administer the program budget and lead annual fundraising efforts. Ensure compliance with NCAA, SCIAC, and University rules and regulations for staff, student-athletes, and related parties. Teach physical education activity courses based on assigned load during the academic year. Perform collateral departmental administrative assignments to support programs and the department, which may include administrative, operations, or coaching responsibilities. Supervise, plan, direct, and evaluate assigned staff; hire and discipline as needed; provide performance feedback and approve timesheets. Perform other related duties and special projects as assigned. Qualifications Experience/Training/Education Bachelor’s degree required; master’s degree preferred. Ability to identify and attract outstanding students and relate effectively with various groups. Clear understanding of NCAA Division III philosophy and the role of physical education and athletics in a private, liberal arts setting. Minimum of three (3) years of flag football or football coaching experience; preference for head coaching or collegiate coaching experience. Experience working with diverse constituencies; sensitivity to multicultural issues; ability to work collaboratively to meet deadlines. Ability to interact with a culturally and ethnically diverse population of students, faculty, and staff. Valid California Class C driver’s license required; out-of-state licenses valid until appointment. A California license must be obtained within ten days of appointment per CA Vehicle Code 12505c. Knowledge and Skills Effective verbal and written communication; ability to follow instructions. Aptitude to learn new technology and improve efficiency. Strong technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Excellent organizational skills; ability to operate standard office equipment. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook). Ability to recommend actions within established guidelines and foster positive relationships to achieve university objectives. Discretion and ability to handle confidential information. Physical Requirements/Working Conditions Standard office setting; duties primarily performed in an office environment.
