Yard Worker / Supervisor

Position Overview

Our client is seeking a reliable and safety-focused Yard Person to manage daily yard operations, material handling, loading/unloading activities, and inventory organization. This role is critical to supporting fabrication, project staging, and field installation teams by ensuring materials and equipment are properly received, stored, and dispatched.

Key Responsibilities:
Unload incoming steel and metal deliveries.
Load company vehicles with project materials, tools, and equipment.
Organize, stage, tag, and store steel and fabricated components.
Operate forklifts, Lulls, and other material-handling equipment.
Maintain safe, clean, and organized yard operations.
Support inventory control and material tracking.
Assist fabrication shop personnel with moving materials.
Prepare and secure loads for transportation.
Follow OSHA and company safety procedures at all times.

Required Qualifications:
Experience in steel fabrication, manufacturing, construction, or industrial environments preferred.
Massachusetts 1C Hoisting License required.
Forklift and heavy material handling experience.
Ability to lift and move steel and other heavy materials safely.
Strong organizational and communication skills.
Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
Ability to pass background check, DOT physical, and drug screening.
