Executive Director, Program & Portfolio Management
Neurocrine Biosciences
Neurocrine Biosciences seeks an Executive Director to lead program and portfolio management operations across product development teams. The role involves strategic coordination, team leadership, process development, and cross-functional alignment to ensure timely delivery of clinical and commercial milestones.
Responsibilities
- Lead program management function and support all product development teams across the organization
- Partner with Program Leads and Executive Management on project strategy, requirements, and development decisions
- Develop standard program and portfolio management tools, processes, and integrated project schedules
- Recruit, mentor, and develop program managers and managers to strengthen project management capabilities
- Identify organizational and program issues requiring management attention and communicate accomplishments organization-wide
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in life science plus 17+ years pharmaceutical/biotech project management experience
- Master's degree preferred with 15+ years relevant experience, or PhD with 12+ years experience
- Expertise in early and late-phase drug development including IND/CTA and NDA/MAA submissions
- Advanced knowledge of project management practices, tools, and methodologies
- Strong leadership, coaching, and employee development capabilities
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to influence consensus and drive decision-making across organizational levels
