Research Associate II - Regenerative Medicine Institute

Regenerative medicine is a new and developing field that aims to restore function in diseased or aged tissues through either revitalizing existing cells or transplanting new ones. At the Board of Governors Regenerative Medicine Institute, researchers are turning stem cells into therapies for treating a multitude of prevalent diseases and conditions. Responsibilities Perform routine and increasingly complex laboratory tasks and procedures. Participate in all aspects of the research process, including investigation, technical work, testing/validation of results, and reporting findings. Perform routine experimental protocols and procedures to support laboratory research objectives. Observe and comply with safety standards and procedures. Assist in preparation of data for publication and/or presentation at scholarly meetings. Assist in general laboratory maintenance. Keep accurate and detailed records of experiments and results. Assist in identifying and troubleshooting unexpected results. Order laboratory supplies and support laboratory operations. Maintain lab equipment, related records, and coordinate use of lab equipment. Assist in the operation of specialized equipment as needed. Orient research laboratory assistants, lower level research associates, and undergraduate student researchers on day‑to‑day lab operations and routine procedures. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in a science‑related field. One year of research laboratory experience. Experience with routine laboratory procedures and experimental protocols.
