Human Resources Clerk

SUMMARY Performs Human Resources-related duties and is responsible for some or all of the following functional areas: employee onboarding, recruitment, recognition, and training programs. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following: Maintaining employee records, including applications, resumes, and other documents. Completing onboarding and offboarding processes for new hires, rehires and departing employees. Conduct verification of employment eligibility by examining I-9 documents via Zoom in compliance with federal regulations. Ensure that all documents presented are valid, unexpired, and accurately recorded. Maintain confidentiality and accuracy throughout the verification process, and follow up as needed to resolve discrepancies or request additional documentation. Greeting visitors to the department and answering phone calls and inquiries. Assisting with all special projects assigned to the HR Team, such as coordination of the annual holiday party and seasonal job fairs. Tracking and organizing work-related documents such as Form I-9s, minor working papers, and required training. All other duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Must be able to organize and prioritize work. Must be able to handle sensitive information in a confidential manner. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE One to two years of experience in an office environment OR current college student pursuing an Associate or Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business Management or related field. CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS None required. PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORK ENVIRONMENT The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Ability to position oneself to maneuver or adjust various materials weighing up to 20 lbs. Operate a variety of standard office equipment, including a computer terminal, telephone, fax machine, etc. Must be able to sit, stand, walk, and reach for extended periods of time.
