Shift/Hours: Part-Time – 24 hours/week, 1st Shift Job Description The Clinical Education Specialist is responsible for developing, managing, analyzing, delivering, and evaluating unit specific education and training. Additionally, the CES is responsible for coordination and collaboration with Organizational Development and Education. The Clinical Education Specialist serves as a resource and role model through education, role modeling, teambuilding, and quality monitoring. Demonstrates respect, dignity, kindness and empathy in each encounter with all patients, families, visitors, and other employees regardless of cultural background. The Clinical Education Specialist must be able to provide support to all shifts and weekends as needed to ensure that all shifts have the benefit of education resources. Operations Interacts with staff in order to maintain knowledge of workflow, complete leadership rounds, assess clinical and educational needs, and provide education on unit. Develops unit plan to enhance education and unit competencies. Oversees planning and implementation of specialty/unit specific education including skills days. Collaborates with unit managers to assist in maintaining competency record keeping. Provide consultation and unit specific orientation to staff and interdisciplinary colleagues, analyze data from consultations to implement practice improvements, mentors staff/students and others to acquire new knowledge and skills to help develop their career. Quality/Customer Service Identifies potential risks to patient safety, autonomy, and quality of care based on assessment across the continuum. Synthesizes assessment data, advanced knowledge, and experience using critical thinking and clinical judgement to formulate differential diagnosis for clinical problems. Assess current nursing practice and participates in evidence-based practice change and research practices to further enhance outcomes. Works in collaboration with unit managers on special projects, serving on committees as necessary. Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications Education, Credentials, Licenses Master’s in Nursing Certification in BLS If eligible, must have a Compact (multi-state) License in their primary state of residence. Current nursing license in state where work will be performed. Specialized Knowledge Expertise in clinical specialty Kind and Length of Experience 5 years of experience in clinical nursing FLSA Status Exempt #J-18808-Ljbffr
