Position Summary [Purpose and Scope]: This position provides individual and group therapy services to adults who have been the survivors of sexual assault and/or domestic violence. Specific Duties and Responsibilities: Provide empowerment-based support and counseling/therapy to individuals who are survivors of domestic and sexual violence. Provide/Conduct group counseling/therapy for survivors of domestic violence and/or sexual assault. Assist participants with developing natural support systems. Refer, advocate, and link participants to additional services as needed. Support timely access to services for all referred and existing participants. Maintain accurate and timely documentation as required by the program. Attend staff and supervision meetings on a regular basis. Participate in community outreach activities as assigned. Participate in trainings to meet continuing education and certification requirements Keep Supervisor apprised of activities, informally and by written word. Perform other duties as necessary or assigned Education or Equivalent: Master’s degree (M. A.) in psychology, social work, or related area, State of Florida License or license eligible: LCSW or LMHC. Clinical experience with emphasis on domestic violence or sexual assault is preferred. Knowledge/Skills Requirements: In addition to the skills and abilities previously described, the following are also required: Must possess the ability to provide professional psycho-educational counseling/therapy to adults who are victims of domestic and/or sexual violence. Must have the ability to remain calm and rational in a crisis situation. Must have a strong work ethic and dependability. Must be independent, self-motivated, driven, assertive with a positive social attitude. Must always demonstrate highly professional conduct. Must have excellent time management, decision-making, problem-solving, and analytical skills Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, organizational skills, project management. Must be proficient in use of computers including Word, Excel, Outlook and Internet research. Strong relationship management and interpersonal skills including internal/external customer service skills. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with individuals at all levels of the organization. Bilingual in Spanish and English preferred. Must pass Florida Department of Law Enforcement criminal background check, be eligible to work in the U.S., have reliable transportation and a valid Florida driver’s license. Must pass CORE Competency Trainings for Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault upon hiring; and document 16 hours of approved continuing education annually, with at least 8 hours in trainings related to sexual assault. Physical Requirements : Position requires physical ability to lift approximately 25 lbs., sit or be on feet for extend periods of time, bend freely, and reach objects overhead. Must be able to converse on a telephone and use a keyboard effectively.
