Payloads Design Engineer – Position Summary

Seeking an experienced Payloads Design Engineer to support the Washington Interiors Team in developing and maintaining aircraft cabin and cargo interior systems.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, integrate, and modify aircraft structural and interior payload components using 3D CAD tools.
• Develop and maintain designs using CATIA, ENOVIA, CSDT, and PDM systems.
• Support testing, certification, and regulatory compliance, including FAA and EASA requirements.
• Collaborate with suppliers, airlines, production teams, and cross-functional engineering groups.
• Assist with cargo compartment and handling system design, integration, and certification.
• Support design-for-manufacturing initiatives and investigate emerging technologies.

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Civil, Aerospace, Aeronautical, or Materials Engineering.
• 5+ years of related engineering experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in aerospace interiors, aircraft cargo systems, and engineering release processes.
• Knowledge of FAA Title 14 CFR Part 25 or EASA equivalents.
• 2+ years of project or program management experience.
• Strong problem-solving, critical-thinking, and communication skills.
• Experience working with suppliers, regulators, or in a production environment.
