Registered Nurse (RN) – Progressive Care Unit (PCU)

Location: Saginaw, Michigan

Start Date: August 3, 2026

Contract Length: 13 Weeks

Shift: Nights (7:00 PM – 7:15 AM)
⏰ Schedule: 3 x 12-Hour Shifts | 36 Hours Guaranteed Weekly

On-Call: None

Weekend/Holiday Requirement: Every Other Weekend & Holiday

Key Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive patient assessments and develop individualized care plans.
• Deliver direct patient care including medication administration, treatments, monitoring, and patient education.
• Evaluate patient responses to treatment and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to adjust care plans.
• Monitor patients requiring progressive care, including neurological and complex medical conditions.
• Serve as a team leader and resource for support staff while ensuring quality patient outcomes.
• Maintain compliance with hospital policies, evidence-based nursing practices, and regulatory standards.
• Respond promptly to patient needs, alarms, and changes in condition.
• Float to other PCU and Med-Surg units as needed based on staffing requirements.

Unit Information

• Unit: Progressive Care Unit (PCU)
• Patient Ratio: Target 1:4–5, up to 1:6
• Float Requirement: May float to other PCU/Med-Surg floors as needed

Minimum Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Neuro PCU experience required
• Recent travel nursing experience highly preferred
• Active Michigan RN License (LARA/Nursys verified)
• Active AHA BLS Certification
• Active AHA ACLS Certification
• Active NIHSS Certification
• Current PCU Skills Checklist (within 1 year)
• Two supervisory references completed within the last two years
• Permanent address required with submission
• Local candidates accepted (within 50-mile radius for one 13-week contract only)
