Express Employment Professionals - Danbury

Job Description

Job Description

A day in the life — Newtown, CT

You start your day reviewing build instructions, schematics, and blueprints for a new run of assemblies. With steady hands and sharp focus, you fit small mechanical parts, route wiring, and fasten components using standard hand tools. As you progress, you validate your work with careful checks, flag anything unusual, and partner with engineering and quality to resolve issues quickly. You keep your bench tidy, document each step you complete, and wrap up by suggesting improvements that could make tomorrow’s builds even better.

What you’ll do
  • Build electromechanical subassemblies and full systems from engineering drawings, work instructions, and specifications.
  • Execute in-process and final quality checks to confirm compliance with customer and industry standards.
  • Troubleshoot assembly challenges; collaborate closely with Engineering and QA to implement fixes.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized workstation while following all safety procedures.
  • Record build steps, test results, part usage, and any deviations with accuracy.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement activities that raise throughput and product quality.
What you bring
  • High school diploma or GED; technical coursework or certifications are a plus.
  • Hands-on experience in electromechanical or closely related assembly work.
  • Working knowledge of both mechanical and electrical fundamentals.
  • Ability to interpret blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
  • Comfort with hand tools and assembly equipment.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and strong problem-solving abilities.
  • Clear communicator who collaborates well with a team.
  • Excellent finger dexterity for handling small, precise components.
  • Process-driven, patient, and able to remain calm and focused when working independently.
What we’re looking for

Someone with general assembly experience who follows work instructions and basic schematics precisely, asks clarifying questions when needed, and confidently uses standard hand tools.
