About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Medical Surgical / Telemetry Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Nights Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years as RN, with 1 year in specialty License: Required Certifications: BLS required, ACLS preferred Must-Have: Epic EMR proficiency required and recent experience. Trauma level I/II experience required. Nurse patient ratios are 1:5-6 during days and 1:6 during nights. Floating requirements include MedSurg and stable low acuity in ICU. Description: This unit specializes in medical and surgical care. Common diagnoses include pneumonia, COPD, acute kidney injury, and occasional surgical patients. Registered Nurses are responsible for basic patient care and monitoring. Heparin and lasix drips are non-titrated. Charge nurses are available but may take assignments if needed. Patient care techs will assist with up to 12 patients per nurse. Patients may require respiratory support, including bipap and stable tracheostomy care. A dedicated monitor tech will handle telemetry; travelers do not need to read telemetry strips. Weekend shifts are required every other week. Holidays require working 2 out of 3 holidays. Navy blue scrubs are the required uniform color. This position includes a low census on-call requirement. Nurse patient ratios ensure adequate support for staff and patients.
