Job Title Mechanical Manufacturing Engineer – Harvey, IL Job Summary Reporting to the Senior Engineering Manager, this role focuses on development and troubleshooting processes and product lines related to design, material, or process, ensuring safe, reliable, and efficient equipment. What you’ll do Facilitate and participate in concept brainstorming and strategy sessions. Influence and propel multi‑functional team members to achieve stretch goals. Develop and troubleshoot product lines as an engineer. Maintain and modify plant equipment to ensure it is safe, reliable, and efficient. Plan and design experiments, conduct data analysis in support of product lines. Design and implement test methods and equipment to support product development. Maintain research and engineering documentation. Provide technical assistance for troubleshooting and diagnosing design and manufacturing quality problems. Conduct feasibility studies to verify capability and functionality or assess existing technologies. Research future concepts within the market, monitoring technology trends. What you’ll bring Bachelor's degree in mechanical, manufacturing, or industrial engineering. 2‑5 years’ manufacturing environment experience preferred. Excellent 2D CAD skills – AutoCAD. Inventor and 3D CAD as a plus. Proficient in Windows applications: Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Word. Strong teamwork skills with consensus building, leadership, and accountability. Project management experience, including defining, detailing, documentation, and driving project completion. Within 3 months, you’ll Complete your Atkore Immersion Program. Understand how your job will help deliver Atkore’s strategy. Within 6 months, you’ll Conduct time studies and recommend changes when needed. Develop work instructions for operations and quality checks and design systems for various operations. Within 12 months, you’ll Manage continuous improvement projects, rectify issues to achieve cost savings, quality improvements, and efficiency gains.
