Physical Therapist – Hospital Rehab Location: 1 Elliot Way, Manchester, NH. Hours: 40 hours a week. Shift options: 4–10 or 5–8. Start time flexible 7:30‑9:30 AM. Weekend rotation every 5th weekend. Sign On Bonus Eligible up to $10,000 Rehabilitation Services – Inpatient Elliot Rehabilitation Services inpatient department is a large multidisciplinary department consisting of physical, occupational, and speech therapists that treat patients across the lifespan in a collaborative model with nursing, case management, providers, and other ancillary services. Elliot Hospital is a Level 2 trauma center, a DNV Orthopedic Center of Excellence, and has a Level 3 NICU, all of which the rehab department supports with highly trained staff and quality, evidence‑based interventions. We support all units of the hospital including ICU, CICU, Pediatrics, Medical Surgical and the ED. The physical therapist evaluates, plans, and implements specific treatment programs for patients according to the principles and practices of the specific discipline and setting (acute care or outpatient). What You’ll Do Prepare for patient evaluation by conducting medical record review, identifying areas of focus, contraindications, and precautions. Ensure orders for therapy are active and appropriate. Evaluate the skilled therapy needs of the referred patient and develop a written prioritized plan of care, including short‑ and long‑term rehabilitation goals developed in collaboration with the patient and/or other members of the health care team. Update treatment plan, re‑evaluate patient, and communicate with referrer and other clinicians involved in the patient’s care. Establish and implement discharge plan and instruct patient, family member(s), and other essential personnel in effective performance of home exercise programming or other strategies to maximize function. These may include, but are not limited to, instruction in the use of home medical equipment, adaptive devices or customized equipment (splints, orthoses, ACC devices, etc.). Provide clinical supervision of therapy assistant(s), rehabilitation assistants, and/or other essential personnel in the implementation and revision of the rehabilitation plan of care. Support EHS Rehabilitation Services commitment to clinical development by participating in the department’s clinical affiliation program. After practicing successfully for a period of one full year, the occupational therapist is expected to act as a clinical instructor, taking on a student as assigned every 18–24 months. Participate in EHS Rehabilitation ongoing clinical development programming, with the delivery of an educational presentation once per year on a topic of their choice. Participation may include, but is not limited to, in‑services (network or clinic), journal club, community outreach, or other educational opportunities. Education and Experience Needs Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy Program with corresponding Entry Level Degree. Licensed as a Physical Therapist by the state of New Hampshire Physical Therapy Governing Board. CPR certification required or able to complete within first 90 days. Previous experience in clinical setting preferred, but not required. Recent graduates eligible.
