Job Title: RN Infusion Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Oncology Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Shift Hours per Shift: 8 Experience: Minimum 1 year of outpatient infusion/oncology experience License: Current RN license Certifications: BLS, ONS Chemotherapy/Immunotherapy Certification Must-Have: - Experience in chemotherapy administration - Peripheral IV, Port-a-Cath, and PICC line access skills - Strong assessment skills - Comfortable recognizing adverse reactions - Ability to draw blood from ports for labs Description: This position involves caring for adult patients receiving oncology treatment. The clinic primarily serves oncology patients, providing long-term intravenous antibiotics, injections, and blood and platelet infusions. Chemotherapy agents will also be administered, requiring comfort and experience with these medications. On average, the unit sees around 10 patients per day. Chemotherapy administration occurs in the morning, with no chemotherapy patients scheduled after 14:00. The clinic has 5 treatment chairs. There is support available from a clinic lead, schedulers, and an oncologist who can respond if needed. In addition, there is a rapid response system in place for emergencies. Traveling nurses with previous experience are preferred, though first-time travelers are accepted. The role may require floating to other infusion centers as needed. Scheduling involves Monday to Friday shifts, typically from 08:00 to 16:30. The clinic closes at 15:30, but nurses may need to stay longer to complete infusions. Scrub color is navy. No weekend rotation or on-call responsibilities are required, and major holidays are observed.
