Shift: Night 4x12-Hour (19:00 - 07:30)

Description: Ratios 1:5-6 Float: Med/surg Service line Every other weekend BLS required 50% of holidays on contract. Charge duties as needed. 1 year exp required! Must have travel exp! The adult overflow unit is a 1O bed unit that services all UH admitting physician teams. Examples: Neurology, internal Medicine, Family Medicine, Cardiology, Orthopedics, and Oncology. Diagnoses range from diabetes, CHF, COPD, Renal disease, orthopedic fractures, and neurological deficits. This unit will occupy adults, 16 and older, medical surgical patients to assist with hospital throughput. General floor care procedures and skills such as IV therapy, labs, nasogastric tubes, wound care assisting physicians with bedside procedures and conscious sedation. No locals within 50 miles The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met with or without reasonable accommodation. The performance of these physical demands is an essential function of the job. This position is very active and requires ambulating, reaching, and moving objects weighing up to and over 20 lbs. This role also routinely comes into contact with patients who may have contagious illnesses. This position is in a health care facility open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Rotating shifts as well as holiday and work during inclement weather will be required.

Essential Job Functions: (1) the ability to work at client’s assigned work location throughout the full term of the contractual engagement, (2) the ability to work the substantial time of the assigned shift, (3) the ability to take call, (4) the ability to work assigned weekends, and (5) the ability to work at least 50 percent of the holidays that occur during the contract.

Special Procedures/Unit Details: General floor care procedures and skills such as IV therapy, labs, nasogastric tubes, wound care assisting physicians with bedside procedures and conscious sedation. Special Equipment: No special equipment specific to the unit.

Extensions: Effective 4/8/26, travelers can work up to 3 consecutive 13-week contracts, (or 9 months of consecutive service). Following that, traveler must take a mandatory (6) month break before returning to MU Health Care in an agency capacity. Modules: Modules are non-billable, average 4-6 hours Modules are completed during orientation and annually, and vary by specialty Modules are recorded by onsite manager through Cornerstone
