Job Details Specialty: NICU Registered Nurse Setting: Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) Location: Richmond, Virginia 23226 Employment Type: Travel RN / Travel Nurse Shift: 12-hour night shifts Hours Per Week: 36 Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,130 - $2,250 Duration: 16 weeks Start Date: September 14, 2026 Weekend/Holiday Requirement: Every other weekend and major holidays Float Potential: May occasionally float within the neonatal service line as needed Job Requirements Current RN license in the state of practice or compact licensure eligibility Minimum 2.5-3 years of NICU nursing experience required Current BLS certification required NRP certification required Experience with cooling therapy, ventilators, JET ventilators, and oscillators required Strong critical thinking skills and the ability to care for unstable neonatal patients Ability to work collaboratively in a high-acuity, interdisciplinary care environment At least one year of RN experience required Responsibilities Provide safe, compassionate, evidence-based nursing care to neonatal patients in a Level III NICU Perform ongoing assessments, monitor patient status, and respond quickly to changes in condition Manage complex neonatal care needs, including ventilatory support and cooling protocols Administer medications and therapies according to scope of practice and clinical standards Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapy, and the interdisciplinary healthcare team to develop and implement care plans Support families through education, updates, and emotionally sensitive communication Document care accurately and maintain compliance with unit policies and best practices Promote patient safety, infection prevention, and high-quality outcomes for every newborn cared for Apply now for this NICU RN travel nursing job in Richmond, Virginia, and join a healthcare team dedicated to exceptional neonatal care.
