Position Overview

We are seeking a dependable Painter to assist with interior painting projects and finishing touch-ups throughout a facility in Virginia Beach. This is a hands-on role ideal for someone with residential or commercial painting experience who takes pride in quality workmanship and attention to detail.

In addition to painting duties, team members may assist with light maintenance tasks, furniture relocation, and general project support to help prepare the facility for occupancy.

Key Responsibilities

Painting & Surface Preparation

• Perform interior painting and touch-up work using brushes and rollers.

• Prepare surfaces for painting by cleaning, patching, sanding, and masking as needed.

• Apply paint evenly and maintain quality standards throughout the project.

• Inspect completed work and perform touch-ups to ensure a professional finish.

Facility Support

• Assist with moving furniture and equipment to support painting activities.

• Help with basic repairs and facility setup tasks as assigned.

• Maintain a clean and organized work area.

• Follow all safety procedures and use equipment properly.

General Project Duties

• Support the facilities team with project-related tasks as needed.

• Help ensure project deadlines are met prior to facility occupancy.

Qualifications

Required

• 1+ year of painting experience in residential, commercial, apartment, or similar environments.

• Experience with paint preparation, masking, patching, and finish work.

• Ability to use brushes, rollers, and standard painting tools safely and effectively.

• Ability to lift and move furniture, materials, and equipment as needed.

• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.

Preferred

• Basic drywall repair experience.

• General maintenance or handyman experience.

• Experience in apartment maintenance, commercial painting, or facilities maintenance.

Schedule & Work Environment

• Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM

• Occasional weekend work may be available based on project needs.

• Approximately 2.5-month assignment

• Work is focused on preparing facilities for incoming students before the start of the academic term.

• Team-oriented environment with a mix of painting, touch-up work, and light facility support duties.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr.
