System Administrator

Overview: DESCRIPTION: The position of System Administrator is established to perform LAN/WAN (Local Area Network and Wide Area Network) projects involving the design, analysis, maintenance and implementation of equipment and networks and perform system administration. RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Install, configure, and maintain computer systems, servers, networks, and peripheral devices.
- Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement necessary solutions to ensure optimal system functionality.
- Administer user accounts, permissions, and access rights to various systems and applications.
- Ensure data backups and disaster recovery procedures are in place and regularly tested.
- Conduct routine system maintenance, including applying patches, updates, and security configurations.
- Monitor and maintain network security, including firewalls, antivirus software, and intrusion detection systems.
- Respond to user inquiries, troubleshoot problems, and provide technical support and guidance.
- Collaborate with other IT staff to develop and implement IT policies, procedures, and standards.
- Evaluate and recommend new technologies, hardware, and software to improve system performance and security.
- Stay updated with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in system administration.
- Bachelor's degree in computer sciences, Technology, degree, or relevant experience
- Proven experience as a system administrator or similar role.(1-2 years of Experience)
- Microsoft Operating Systems 2008R2 to 2012 R2, and Microsoft Office 365
- Cisco ASA firewall technology and Cisco switching and routing
- Symantec Endpoint Protection
- VMware 5.5 including VLAN and Enterprise Plus features
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with users and IT staff effectively.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage time effectively.
