Lead Teacher (Ages 2–5) – Join Our Team

Tenney Preschool and Childcare

We are seeking a dedicated Lead Teacher to lead a mixed-age classroom of children ages 2–5.

This is an opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of our children and staff while fostering a supportive, relationship-focused environment .

We follow a play-based, emergent curriculum that encourages children’s interests to guide learning.

⏰ Our Schedule

Monday–Friday

7:30 AM – 5:15 PM

(No weekends)

Compensation and Benefits

$20–$22 per hour , based on experience and qualifications

What You'll Do

Your Key Responsibilities

• Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment with structure and consistency
• Develop and implement engaging, play-based learning experiences that meet the diverse needs of our children
• Support children’s social-emotional growth and independence, ensuring they feel safe and valued
• Guide and support assistant teachers, promoting a cohesive and collaborative team
• Maintain an organized, engaging, and calm classroom environment, minimizing distractions and ensuring the children stay on task
• Cultivate strong relationships with families and our leadership team, keeping them informed of progress and events
• Ensure compliance with all licensing and safety standards, ensuring a secure and healthy environment for everyone

Requirements

✅ What We Need to Get Started

• Experience as a Lead Teacher in a licensed childcare setting
• Wisconsin Registry credentials or the willingness to obtain
• Strong understanding of play-based and emergent curriculum principles
• Excellent leadership and communication skills

• Is comfortable taking charge and leading a classroom
