PET/CT Technologist

Relocation assistance available. RAYUS Radiology is looking for a part‑time PET/CT Technologist to join our team. We are challenging the status quo by shining the light on radiology and making it a critical first step in diagnosis and proper treatment. As a PET/CT Technologist, you will perform all Positron emission tomography (PET) and computed tomography (PET/CT) procedures according to the established standards and protocols to provide quality patient care. You will also remain self‑motivated to increase your level of understanding and knowledge of the field, disease, and new procedures as they evolve. This is a part‑time position (20‑29 hours/week) working on our mobile units, located between Bennington and Windsor counties in Vermont.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

(75%) Patient Imaging Performs routine and advanced PET/CT procedures on designated portions of the body for use by physicians in the diagnosing and treating of patient illness and/or injury with minimal supervision or repeats. Screens patients before the procedure for any precautions or contraindications pertaining to the examination. Explains and prepares patients for PET/CT procedures, positioning them appropriately and providing support throughout the procedure. Adjusts scan parameters correctly and as needed, utilizing dose‑reduction techniques as appropriate. Maintains a positive attitude and working relationships with radiologists, referring customers, associates, and peers. Assesses, prepares, records, and administers radio‑pharmaceuticals according to Nuclear Regulatory Commission and/or state regulations and departmental policies. Administers fluorodeoxyglucose (FDG) via intravenous methods to patients. Demonstrates knowledge of safety‑related work behaviors to ensure safe job performance and the maintenance of a safe work environment as an integral part of the quality of patient care services. Reports contamination to the Radiation Safety Officer. Maintains accurate patient records within the Radiology Information System (RIS). Maintains the ACR toolkit and accreditation requirements. (20%) Imaging Support Performs general maintenance on PET/CT scanner and/or mobile scanner and truck. Performs and records daily quality‑control procedures on specified equipment to ensure correct and accurate operation. Performs and records daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly quality‑control procedures on PET/CT equipment to ensure compliance with ACR and AOA guidelines. Troubleshoots when possible, and reports problems to the supervisor. Performs daily and weekly departmental surveys to ensure compliance with radiation standards of the department and the Nuclear Regulatory Commission and/or state regulations. (5%) Performs other duties as assigned

REQUIRED

NMTCB or ARRT registered technologist in Nuclear Medicine, current and in good standing. Graduate of an accredited school of radiography. Licensed technologist in the appropriate state, if applicable. Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification. Training and experience sufficient to competently perform radiographic procedures independently. Valid driver’s license and proof of current insurance.

PREFERRED

ARRT certification in CT. NMTCB PET Specialty certification.
