License: Current Michigan SLP License Certifications: Active American Heart Association BLS, Active Certificate of Clinical Competence Must-Have: Master's degree in Speech and Language Pathology Pediatric experience VFSS experience Willingness to work in inpatient and outpatient units Traveler's permanent address must be included Traveler must have their own vehicle Description: Under general supervision, the Speech and Language Pathologist is responsible for providing speech, language, and dysphagia services to patients. This includes evaluations, planning individual patient care programs, treatments, and home programs. The position requires the candidate to consistently use an outward mindset and put forth exemplary effort in accomplishing goals and objectives to help others. Responsibilities include performing patient evaluations and administering treatment for speech, language, and swallowing disorders. The candidate will design and revise plans of care and goals, provide written and/or verbal reports to physicians, and complete documentation according to unit standards and regulatory requirements. Participation in in-service education programs and keeping abreast of current trends and developments in speech and swallowing disorders is expected. The candidate will also participate in related activities such as patient care committees, case conferences, personnel orientation, community education projects, and in-service education. Attendance at staff meetings is required. This position will be responsible for inpatient services such as bedside swallow studies, diet recommendations, and monitoring outpatient VFSS in addition to outpatient speech therapy evaluation/intervention for the adult population. Candidates must be able to work independently and hit the ground running. Business casual or matching scrubs are required attire. Weekend call may be required, typically once a month.
