Locum MD (Medical Doctor), DO (Osteopathic Doctor) Neurology

A respected healthcare facility in Charleston is seeking an experienced Locum Tenens Neurologist (MD/DO) to provide high‑quality inpatient and/or outpatient neurological care. Key Responsibilities

• Diagnose and manage a wide range of neurological conditions, including stroke, seizures, movement disorders, neuropathies, headaches, and neurodegenerative diseases.
• Provide inpatient consults, rounds, and follow‑up care for hospitalized neurology patients.
• Conduct outpatient clinic visits, evaluations, and long‑term management plans.
• Interpret neurological diagnostics such as EEG, EMG, CT, MRI, and lumbar puncture results.
• Collaborate with hospitalists, emergency physicians, neurosurgeons, and rehabilitation teams.
• Maintain accurate documentation and adhere to facility protocols and regulatory standards.
• Deliver patient‑centered care with strong communication and clinical judgment.

Assignment Details

• Schedule: 24-hour shifts, 1 week per month
• Setting: Inpatient
• Daily Volume: 6-12 patients
• Case Types: Epilepsy
• Duties: Rounding on inpatients, ICU, NICU, ER, and other consults
• Will round with residents
• Must be board-certified
• Paid travel & expenses

Qualifications

• MD or DO with board certification or board eligibility in Neurology
• Active state medical license (or ability to obtain)
• Current DEA registration
• Strong diagnostic, consultative, and clinical management skills
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast‑paced environment
• Excellent communication and patient‑care skills
