Location: Somerset, NJ
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 PM–7:00 AM, rotating 12-hour shifts.
Pay Rate: $25.00 – $28.00 per hour (Based on Experience)
Job Type: Full-Time | Long term
Job Summary
Our client, a leading manufacturer of plastic packaging solutions, is seeking a Mechanically Inclined Machine Operator in Somerset, NJ. The ideal candidate will have experience operating manufacturing equipment, performing machine setups, and troubleshooting mechanical issues to maintain efficient production.
Responsibilities
- Set up, operate, and monitor production machinery.
- Perform machine adjustments, changeovers, and basic troubleshooting.
- Monitor product quality and make necessary machine adjustments.
- Perform routine equipment inspections and basic preventive maintenance.
- Report equipment issues to the maintenance team as needed.
- Complete production and quality documentation accurately.
- Follow all safety policies, procedures, and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Assist with material handling and production support as needed.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of machine operating experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
- Experience with machine setup and changeovers.
- Ability to read work instructions and use measuring tools.
- Basic math and documentation skills.
- Reliable, detail-oriented, and able to work independently.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for the duration of the shift.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. on a regular basis.
- Frequent bending, reaching, and repetitive motion.
- Comfortable working around production machinery in a manufacturing environment.
