Orientation and Mobility Specialist in Corpus Christi, TX

Qualifications and Experience:

• Current Orientation and Mobility Specialist (OMS) certification required.
• AVCREP certification or equivalent credential.
• Previous experience working in educational settings strongly preferred.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain active fingerprint clearance with the State of Texas (expedited process if not already in system).
• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and collaboration skills.

• Conduct orientation and mobility assessments for students with visual impairments.
• Develop and implement individualized instructional plans fostering safe navigation and independence.
• Collaborate with teaching staff, families, and related service providers to ensure student safety and goal achievement.
• Provide consultation and resources for school personnel as needed.
• Maintain thorough documentation according to district and state requirements.
