About the Role:

As a Deli Associate, you will play a crucial role in delivering exceptional customer service while preparing and serving a variety of deli products. Your primary focus will be to ensure that all food items are fresh, properly displayed, and meet quality standards, contributing to a positive shopping experience. You will interact directly with customers, taking orders, providing product information, and making recommendations to meet their needs. Your efforts will directly impact customer satisfaction and the overall success of the deli department within the store. Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent. Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks such as lifting and slicing. Basic math skills for handling transactions and measuring portions. Strong communication skills to interact effectively with customers and team members. Availability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays. Preferred Qualifications: Previous experience working in a deli, food service, or retail environment. Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards. Familiarity with deli equipment such as slicers and scales. Customer service training or experience. Bilingual abilities to assist a diverse customer base. Responsibilities: Prepare and slice deli meats, cheeses, and other products according to customer specifications and company standards. Serve customers promptly and courteously, taking orders and answering questions about deli products and specials. Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the deli work area, equipment, and utensils in compliance with health and safety guidelines. Stock and rotate deli products to ensure freshness and minimize waste. Assist with inventory management by receiving deliveries, checking product quality, and reporting shortages or discrepancies. Skills: The required skills such as communication and basic math are essential for accurately taking orders, processing transactions, and providing excellent customer service. Physical stamina and attention to detail ensure that deli products are prepared safely and presented attractively.
