HR Generalist

Overview The HR Generalist supports the plant and employees to achieve operational goals. The position reports to the Senior HRBP and involves consultation on employee and labor relations, performance management, recruitment, talent development, culture and engagement, compliance, leave management, and other HR activities. Responsibilities Support employee and labor relations, performance management, and policy interpretation activities. Foster a positive work environment, champion employee engagement activities, and provide day-to-day coaching to plant personnel. Manage internal and external recruitment and employment process for bargaining unit and hourly positions. Support and administer the leave management process, including interaction with vendor and employees. Collaborate with training, payroll and benefits, EHS, and management to onboard employees. Provide data and reports to HR and plant leadership to support fact‑based, data‑driven decision making. Engage in HR departmental projects and process improvements. Assist in response to unemployment claims, civil rights/EEOC claims, and required reporting. Maintain HR records ensuring confidentiality and limited access according to procedure. Back up payroll. Promote a safe work culture and provide support and backup in addressing safety and health incidents. Ensure legal compliance with federal and state regulations applicable to HR. Monitor HR processes for compliance, post notices, maintain records, investigate and resolve employee complaints, and recommend compliance changes. Assist with employee recognition, company events, and other programs. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree (Bachelor’s, BA, BS). 3‑5 years of experience in human resources. Preferred certifications: SHRM‑CP or PHR; HRIS experience, Workday preferred; labor relations knowledge. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, SharePoint, Adobe, PowerPoint. Experience with HRIS systems, preferably Workday. Experience in a manufacturing or food and beverage environment preferred. Knowledge of HR policies & practices, labor relations, contract interpretation. Ability to present to groups, including employees and management. Strong analytical skills: reading, analyzing, and interpreting data, policies, regulations; preparing reports, correspondence, strategies; math and statistical skills. Ability to compute ratios and percentages, develop graphs and charts. Common sense understanding to carry out instructions. Problem‑solving skills in standardized situations. Other Requirements Individual contributor – no supervisory responsibility and no direct budget responsibility.
