We’re partnering with a family-owned landscape maintenance and installation company in Tampa, FL that is looking to hire a  Small Engine Repair Mechanic . In this role, you'll be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining the lawn and landscaping equipment used by field crews, including lawn mowers, edgers, weed eaters, blowers, and other small-engine equipment.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Diagnose and repair mechanical issues with commercial lawn and landscaping equipment
• Perform repairs and maintenance on lawn mowers, edgers, weed eaters, blowers, and other small-engine equipment
• Troubleshoot and repair 2-cycle engines and related components
• Perform preventative maintenance, tune-ups, and routine equipment servicing
• Inspect equipment to identify worn, damaged, or failing components
• Replace or repair components such as carburetors, fuel lines, filters, spark plugs, belts, blades, starters, and other mechanical parts
• Troubleshoot fuel, ignition, starting, and performance issues
• Keep equipment properly maintained and operational to minimize downtime for landscaping crews
• Maintain an organized work area and properly care for tools and equipment
• Communicate equipment issues, necessary repairs, and parts needs to management

Who We’re Looking For

• Previous professional experience repairing small engines and lawn maintenance equipment required
• Hands-on 2-cycle engine diagnostic and repair experience required
• Experience working on lawn mowers, edgers, weed eaters/string trimmers, blowers, and similar landscaping equipment
• Strong mechanical troubleshooting and diagnostic skills
• Knowledge of small-engine fuel, ignition, electrical, and mechanical systems
• Ability to identify equipment issues and complete repairs efficiently
• Comfortable using hand tools, power tools, and mechanical diagnostic equipment
• Dependable, organized, and able to work independently
• Positive attitude and strong work ethic
• Ability to safely perform the physical requirements associated with equipment repair and maintenance

What You Can Expect

• $21.00 - $25.00/hour, based on experience
• Monday - Friday, 6:00am/7:00am - 3:00pm/4:00pm
• Weekly pay
