It is the Air Force's second largest base by population and geographical size, and is home to many operational and support missions. The base is also the largest single-site employer in the state of Utah, with an economic impact of more than $3 billion annually. It is located in northern Utah, just south of the city of Ogden, and near the towns of Layton, Clearfield, Riverdale, Roy, and Sunset. It is about 30 miles (48 km) north of Salt Lake City. The base was named in honor of Major Ployer Peter Hill of the U.S. Army Air Corps, who died test-flying NX13372, the original Model 299 prototype of the B-17 Flying Fortress bomber. As of 2018 Hill AFB is the sixth-largest employer in the state of Utah. Hill AFB is the home of the Air Force Materiel Command's (AFMC) Ogden Air Logistics Complex which is the worldwide manager for a wide range of aircraft, engines, missiles, software, avionics, and accessories components. The commander of the Air Logistics Complex is Brigadier General C. McCauley von Hoffman. The Ogden Air Logistics Complex is part of the Air Force Sustainment Center.

The host unit at Hill AFB is the Air Force Material Command's 75th Air Base Wing (75 ABW), which provides services and support for the Ogden Air Logistics Complex and its subordinate organizations. The Wing and Installation Commander of Hill Air Force Base is Colonel Jenise M. Carroll. Additional tenant units at Hill AFB include operational fighter wings of the Air Combat Command (Client) and the Air Force Reserve Command (AFRC).

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Attend and participate in meetings during normal duty hours and professional Staff conferences and other appropriate professional activities such as, but not limited to the following: quality improvement meetings, professional staff meetings, Commander's staff meetings, Mental Health meetings, and others required by applicable regulations, MTF guidance, or as directed by the Mental Health Flight Commander or his/her designated representative.
• Clinical/Counseling Psychology. Responsible for and applies psychological procedures and techniques, including interviewing, behavioral assessment, evidenced-based therapies, and psychological testing/psych diagnostic testing, in the evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of psychological and neuropsychological disorders. Also able to conduct individual and group psychotherapy, including alcohol and drug treatment evaluation. Family and couples therapy skills are desirable. Consults with medical personnel, legal authorities, military commanders and school districts, as required.
• Maintain accurate, timely, and current notes for all patients seen, as appropriate, and produces reports of evaluation and/or treatment, in accordance with military and clinic policies.
• Participates in military specific training (e.g., training to perform Command Directed Evaluations, security clearances, Military Training Instructor clearances, pre-post deployment screening, PTSD, and combat stress).

Requirements

• Doctor of Philosophy degree (Ph.D or Psy.D) in clinical or counseling psychology from an APA accredited psychology program
• Have a minimum of 1 year experience as a licensed clinical psychologist
• Current, full, active and unrestricted license to practice Psychology in any state
• Must have a clear background in order to pass the security clearance
• Familiar with organization structure and operation methods of Air Force
