Quick Facts Location: Portsmouth, VA (on-site; working across 3 clinics in the area) Start Date: 10/05/2026 End Date: 09/30/2030 Shift: Days, Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM (varies slightly by clinic) Hours per Week: 40 hours Employment Type: Full-Time Licensure/Certs: MD or DO from an accredited US/Canadian institution, unrestricted license, board-certified in Family Practice, DEA, BLS Experience: Minimum 1 year recent family practice experience Pay & Benefits Hourly Rate: $135.00/hour Pay Schedule: Weekly via direct deposit Benefits: Competitive pay packages Weekly pay schedule via direct deposit Robust referral bonus program Licensure, certification, travel, and other reimbursements when applicable 24/7 dedicated support team throughout your assignment Ongoing training and performance improvement opportunities What You’ll Do Provide comprehensive healthcare services in family medicine, including diagnosis, treatment, and preventive care Support multiple clinic locations within Naval Medical Center Portsmouth and associated Branch Health and Tricare Prime clinics Maintain accurate clinical documentation and follow infection control protocols Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure high-quality patient care Participate in team meetings, training, and performance improvement activities Manage urgent and routine cases, including handling emergencies when necessary What You Need Required: MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school Unrestricted medical license in Virginia Board certification in Family Practice Minimum 1 year recent family practice experience Valid DEA and BLS certifications Ability to perform full scope of family medicine services U.S. citizenship and effective communication skills Preferred: Experience in military or federal healthcare settings Additional certifications in emergency medicine or specific healthcare areas Bilingual skills or additional language proficiency Experience training or supervising medical staff and students About the Assignment This position involves providing comprehensive primary care services to military and veteran populations at multiple clinics around Portsmouth, VA.
