Compensation: $120,000 – $155,000 annually (based on experience)

Overview

A high-volume neurology and stroke program in Arlington, Texas, is seeking an experienced Acute Care Nurse Practitioner to support its inpatient neuro hospitalist service.

This role operates within a hybrid neurology care model, providing comprehensive inpatient neurological care across acute care, step-down, and critical care environments. The ideal candidate will have strong inpatient clinical experience, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage complex neurological conditions in a collaborative healthcare setting.

Responsibilities

• Manage inpatient neurology and stroke patients across acute care, step-down, and ICU settings
• Perform comprehensive neurological assessments and develop treatment plans
• Participate in acute stroke response and rapid evaluation protocols
• Collaborate with neurologists, hospitalists, nurses, and interdisciplinary care teams
• Interpret diagnostic studies, including imaging and laboratory results
• Manage high-acuity neurological conditions such as stroke, seizures, encephalopathy, and neurotrauma
• Support patient throughput, discharge planning, and transitions of care
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation within the electronic medical record (EMR)
• Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans and ongoing care needs

QualificationsRequired

• Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program
• Active Texas APRN and Registered Nurse licenses, or eligibility for licensure
• Board Certification as an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (AGACNP or ACNP preferred)
• Minimum of two years of inpatient or hospital-based Nurse Practitioner experience
• Strong clinical assessment and decision-making skills

Preferred

• Experience in neurology, stroke, neurocritical care, or hospital medicine
• Experience with stroke protocols, ICU-level care, or hospitalist workflows
• Familiarity with electroencephalography (EEG), lumbar puncture procedures, or advanced neurological diagnostics
