Job Description & Responsibilities Medical Solutions is seeking a travel nurse RN ICU - Intensive Care Unit for a travel nursing job in Middletown, Connecticut. Exact pay package may vary based on guaranteed hours, distance being traveled, and customizations available for travelers. # beds 24 Certifications: BLS, ACLS Provider ratios: 1:2 1:1 acuity IMCU Days 1:3 Nights 1:4 EMR: Cerner converting to Epic by Feb 2020 Charge Nurse: Yes – try not to take patients assignment Nurse Aides: Yes 1:8 Weekend Requirement: Every other Holidays: Every other Scrub Color: Caribbean blue, able to wear black and white shirts under uniform, top layer must be uniform color, pants may be black or Caribbean blue. Tele/Monitor Techs: All rooms have Phillips intelevue. Monitor Techs but Nurses must be able to read and interpret strips. Drips: All drips titrated Vents: avem vents RT based out of ICU, IMCU- Bipap Hospitalist or Intensivist in house: Hospitalist 24/7 IV Team: Yes 7am-8:30pm Must try first. Nurse Resource available 24/7 available for IV help 7pm-7am RT: 24/7 Yes they are centered out of CCU. RT does EKG's 24/7, ABG's (nurses can also draw) Pharmacy: 24/7 Yes on the unit during the day Shifts: 12's 7am start time Floating: Floating to tele or IMCU could be a 1:5 ratio Floor specific orientation: 2 Shifts Common diagnosis / Types of patients: CVA TPA, AAA, MI (Cath lab only for diagnostics - No interventions done at this facility), Hypertension, Overdose, ETOH, Detoxing Precedex.
