Job Title: Teacher/Athletic Director Salary Range: Commensurate withTeacher Experience + $10,000. Stipend Job Family: Certified FLSA Status: Exempt Work Year: 10 Month # of Days: 164 Position Purpose Under the general Supervision of the Administration, the Teacher/Athletic Director is responsible for overseeing and coordinating all after school sports, athletic clubs, and Field Day. The teacher projects excellence and ensures mastery of grade level content and related skills. In assuming full responsibility for student learning, a high level of rigor is established and maintained. Teacher kindles enthusiasm for athletics and inspires lifelong learning, engages the intellect and models character to students. The teacher creates a positive, productive, and respectful environment and a culture of inquiry and learning. Teacher embodies and models TRIBE: Trust, Respect, Individuality, Bravery and Excellence! Essential Functions - Demonstrates content area knowledge to teach the required educational content.
- Conveys enthusiasm for and interest in the content area to engage and inspire students.
- Plans and prepares lessons.
- Creates lessons based on clear sequencing within units.
- Designs formal and informal assessments to accurately and regularly measure mastery levels.
- Designs learning to be cumulative.
- Develop and maintain an Athletic Program.
- Delivers effective instruction.
- Provides effective instruction to help students achieve mastery of grade-level content and related skills.
- Communicates expectations clearly and provides regular and meaningful feedback to students and parents on academic progress.
- Monitors student achievement to ensure adequate progression towards course objectives and provides support as needed.
- Supports the interventions and accommodations that have been developed for students.
- Establishes a classroom environment.
- Creates a positive culture of high academic expectations and student engagement, and mutual respect.
- Fairly and justly enforces school discipline expectations so that learning is not impeded.
- Strives to motivate the development of strong work habits in students.
- Maintains high expectations.
- Regularly communicates expectations of high standards to all students
- Regularly communicates expectations of best efforts and family support to parents and guardians.
- Meets professional expectations.
- Displays a high level of ethics and professionalism in working with students, staff members, and parents, and complies with school, board, and district policies.

- Willingly, effectively, and promptly implements instructional coaching suggestions.
- Works collaboratively with other staff members and administration to improve student achievement.
- Continues to grow as an educator by attending internal and appropriate external professional development opportunities and meetings.
- Demonstrates thoughtful reflection on own instructional practice.
- Attaches high priority to the safety and welfare of students while on campus. Essential Functions Continued
- Communicates student achievement, academic progress, and any behavioral matters to families on a regular, timely basis.
- Uses good judgment in order to advance positive and collegial relationships with staff members.
- Contributes to school committees or clubs (e.g., basketball, football, volleyball, Field Day, etc.)
- Requires preseason and postseason meetings with coaches.
- Assure that coaches and players adhere to the CHSAA and athletic bylaws.
- Verify that all athletes are medically cleared, have insurance, and have signed the Code of Conduct form.
- Schedule all competitions.
- Provide officials and supervision for all home competitions.
- Assist coaching staff in providing banquets.
- Purchase all equipment and uniforms.
- Provide adequate practice and playing facilities.
- Respond to all parent concerns and calls. Additional Duties Performs other related tasks as assigned by the Superintendent. Note: The above description is illustrative of tasks and responsibilities. It is not meant to be all inclusive of every task or responsibility. Equipment Uses standard office equipment such as personal computers, printer, copy and fax machines, and telephone. Additionally, standard sporting equipment such as scoreboards, protective equipment and gymnasium equipment. Travel Requirements Travels to school district buildings and professional meetings as required. Must be willing to drive mini-bus from time to time. Physical and Mental Demands, Work Hazards Works in standard office and school building environments. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Education: Bachelor's Degree in education or core subject area, or to be deemed in field (or in the process) according to Colorado Department of Education requirements (Colorado teaching license, 36 semester credit hours, or passing score on State Board of Education approved content exam). - Eighty hours of Discretionary time renewing annually July 1.
- Discretionary not used by June 30th will be moved to sick bank.
