100% Outpatient opportunity with established Neurology team in Northern California

A well-established Neurology group south of Sacramento is excited to recruit two additional outpatient Neurologists. This is an outstanding opportunity to join a collaborative, physician-led organization that emphasizes exceptional patient care, physician wellness, and professional growth while providing the flexibility to develop a subspecialty practice within a thriving outpatient setting.

The department is comprised of nine neurologists, with two additional neurologists joining the practice over the next year and continued recruitment planned to support the group's ongoing growth and also an anticipated retirement in 2028. While the practice welcomes general neurologists and most outpatient subspecialty interests, subspecialty interests can also be grown over time in the context of General Neurology. Headache, Pain, and Neuro-Ophthalmology are not needed at this time.

The practice’s greatest current need is for Movement Disorders, with the opportunity to see over 50% subspecialty volume. Due to the lack of other Movement Disorders subspecialists in the area, someone could also take on a leadership role as they develop the clinic. The department also collaborates with an established multidisciplinary ALS clinic.

About the Opportunity

• Established outpatient Neurology practice with two clinical locations
• Physician-led organization with an experienced, collegial team of nine outpatient neurologists
• Flexibility to develop and grow most subspecialty interests over time
• Neurohospitalist team to cover the inpatient service
• Monday-Friday outpatient schedule; clinic hours 8:30 AM-5:30 PM
• New patient visits scheduled for 40 minutes; follow-up visits typically 20-40 minutes
• One hour of protected administrative time built into each clinic day
• Approximately six new patient consultations per day with a balanced follow-up schedule
• Gradual onboarding process with reduced patient volumes during the first several weeks
• Dedicated physician mentorship program for all new hires
• Regular educational opportunities, monthly CME activities, and lunchtime CME learning opportunities
• Movement Disorders represents the department's greatest opportunity for program development and leadership
• Established ALS clinic with opportunities for multidisciplinary collaboration
• Training available for EEG interpretation, routine EMG studies, Botox injections, trigger point injections, and occipital nerve blocks

Call Responsibilities

• Shared evening call among the group (currently approx. 1:9)
• Evening call from 5:30 PM until 7:00 AM
• After 10:30 PM, physicians serve only as backup for tele-neurology providers
• Overnight tele-stroke coverage significantly minimizes interruptions
• Dedicated Neurohospitalists manage inpatient services, and follow up on overnight patients the next day
• Vacation and holiday call coverage shared among the group
