JOB TITLE : Glass Technician
DEPARTMENT : Glass department

FLSA CLASSIFICATION : Non-exempt (hourly)

Position Summary: Cut and/or insulate glass; make and install metal grids in glass; perform sandblasting.

Essential Functions:

Perform department functions listed above

• Responsible for quality of product
• Responsible for preventative maintenance when assigned by department leader
• Work overtime when required to meet customer commitments
• Keep work area clean and organized

Education and Experience:

• High School diploma or G.E.D. is a plus
• Experience progression:
  • Cut and insulate rectangular pieces
  • Sandblasting
  • Cut and insulate curved pieces
  • Gridwork

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Math skills sufficient for the following:
  • Development and use of jigs
  • Ability to use templates
  • Ability to read shop order
• Attention to detail
• Knowledge of Glass Safety

• Receiving Items in (Alere)
• Purchasing Glass (Alere)
• Cutting Glass with Hand Tools
• Insulating / Assembling Glass
• Miter Saw - Cut Metal Grid
• Belt Sanding Glass Edges
• Drill Press & Hand Drilling

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) required:

• Safety glasses
• Protective gloves – As Needed
• Blast hood
• Jumpsuit – As Needed
• Steel Toed shoes
